Foresight
In times of rapid change foresight is a key element of innovation enabling organisations to develop long term strategies which are “future proofed” against alternative scenarios. RTC North has over 10 years experience of delivering foresight services to both public and private organisations
Business Futures – Using a combination of trends analysis and scenario planning the foresight team can help create a more robust business plan by exploring the potential impact of alternative market and production conditions. Seminars and management workshops are tailored to individual company requirements
Technology Road Mapping – This highly effective technique was developed by Motorola in 1970s and is used by up to 10% of UK manufacturing businesses. RTC North offers one day training courses in the use of TRM (time based charts) to capture key trends and drivers and identify future products and services.
Sector Forecasting – Designed for membership organisations including clusters, associations or hubs. A customised template is developed defining relevant sector variables. Over a series of workshops, members assign values to those variables now and in the future, thus producing a series of “sector maps”. These enable the group to identify priorities, share a vision and plan collaborative action.
Regional Strategy – RTC North operated a broad based foresight programme in North East England between 1997 and 2007 and now offers a range of services for policy makers in other regions of the UK and Europe. The emphasis is on practical application of foresight tools to stimulate innovation performance.
